A daring robbery took place on National Highway 8 in the Shanichhara area under the jurisdiction of the Churaibari Police Station on Sunday night, targeting a dumper driver.

According to reports, miscreants allegedly attacked the driver, Abdul Matin, beating him with sticks and iron rods before snatching approximately Rs 1,98,000 and the vehicle’s keys.

Despite sustaining severe injuries, the driver managed to escape and sought help from local residents.

He was later admitted to the Dharmanagar District Hospital for treatment.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and recovered the dumper.

However, no arrests have been made so far in connection with the robbery.
The incident has triggered considerable alarm and concern among residents of the locality.
