Finance Minister attends in awareness campaign on PM Flagship Schemes

Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy attended an awareness campaign camp on the Prime Minister’s Flagship Scheme, Small Savings Scheme and Non-Banking Financial Companies at Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala on Monday.

He said, “The opportunity of the Prime Minister’s flagship scheme should reach the real beneficiaries in every township of the state. All these projects have been taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the welfare of the countrymen. These projects have been launched to improve the socio-economic standard of the people, especially the laborers, farmers and poor sections.”

The finance minister also said that this camp’s main objective is to convey the benefits of all these projects to the economically backward people.

This awareness campaign camp is organized under the initiative of the Directorate of Institutional Finance.

The Finance Minister further said, “The main goal of the government is to improve the socio-economic status of the people along with the provision of economic security. Therefore, it is essential to inform the people, especially the people of rural areas, workers and farmers about the Prime Minister’s Flagship Scheme.”

He added, “If people know the benefits of these schemes, they would not turn to non-banking financial companies to save money. They will be encouraged to save money in the right place.”

Emphasizing the importance of caution in financial activities, the Finance Minister said that people have to be careful in the desire to get more money in a short time.

He added, “PF flagship schemes like Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana have brought new direction to the poor people.

Especially, the marginalized people of the society, such as the poor, laborers, day labourers are benefiting mostly from these schemes.”

Finance Minister Roy said, “The government has taken various steps to collect more money in small savings schemes to protect the future of people. Currently, there are a total of 3000 small savings agents in the entire state. More agents will be appointed at various sub-divisions and district levels.”
He said that the government’s objective is that everyone should join the Prime Minister’s flagship scheme and small savings scheme.
