Bishalgarh: Allegations of a gang of robbers being active in the Bishalgarh subdivision have once again surfaced after a woman was allegedly robbed of her gold chain while travelling on a moving scooty in broad daylight. The incident took place in the Gokulnagar area, creating tension among local residents.

According to reports, Jagriti Chowdhury, a resident of Subhashnagar in Agartala, was travelling by scooty with her family member Mihir Pal to her sister’s house in Bishalgarh for an invitation. While they were passing through the Gokulnagar area, unidentified miscreants allegedly approached them and snatched the gold chain from Jagriti Chowdhury’s neck before fleeing the spot.

The incident left the family shocked. Speaking about the incident, Jagriti Chowdhury said that she had watched reports of such snatching and robbery incidents on television for a long time, but never imagined that she herself would become a victim of such an incident.

Following the incident, police from Bishalgarh police station reached the area and launched a search for the suspected perpetrators. An investigation has also been initiated to identify and apprehend those involved in the incident.
