Investment opportunities created in Tripura have to be utilized: CM

The investment opportunities created in Tripura, have to be utilized quickly and turned into employment opportunities and economic development. There should be fixed timeframe for every investment proposal. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this to various departments today while reviewing the MoUs signed during the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026.

Today a review meeting on the said MoUs was held at the conference hall no.2 of the state secretariat. The Chief Minister said the prime objective behind increasing investment is to increase GSDP, create new employment opportunities and ensure socio-economic development of the people.

In the beginning of the meeting, secretary to the Chief Minister-cum-secretary of industries and commerce department Kiran Gitte had a PPT presentation on the status of the MoUs in the post Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 scenario, coordination between various departments, communication with the investors and roadmap for the implementation of projects.

At the same time he highlighted potential sectors for investment in Tripura, and different aspects of creating new investment opportunities by utilizing the state’s own resources and infrastructure.

In the meeting the secretaries of various departments apprised the Chief Minister about the status of MoUs singed under their respective departments, communication with the investors, proposals and DPR collection, and measures taken to implement the projects.

Addressing the meeting the Chief Minister said that 458 MoUs worth approximately Rs. 1.30 crore was signed during the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026. Taking advantage of this Tripura has to be developed into a desired destination for investment and industrial development.

He emphasized prioritizing sectors like tourism, health, education, skill development, IT, renewable energy, agriculture and food processing, fish processing, dairy, livestock, EV charging etc.. He also emphasized setting up industries by utilizing the natural and agricultural resources of the state.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to take prompt action regarding complications related to land, power connection and infrastructural issues for implementation of

investment proposals. He advised departments to depute a nodal officer who could maintain regular communication with the investors as well as coordinate with other departments. He also stressed the need to simplify administrative processes and set a transparent and coordinated system for the convenience of investors.

The Chief Minister reiterated that a timeframe has to be set for each project to be completed. He said after the signing of MoUs, now implementation is the main target of the government. The concerned departments have to play a proactive role in identifying the challenges being faced by the investors and finding solution to those challenges so that the projects are implemented within the fixed timeframe.

Attending the meeting chief secretary J.K. Sinha said that regular follow-ups and quick decisions should be stressed on. He also emphasized maintaining regular communication with the investors, and quick disposal of complications arising in case of land acquisition, infrastructure and approvals.
