Tripura cabinet led by the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha decided to give preference to the candidates having Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC) in the recruitment for around 5,000 posts through Joint Recruitment Board, Tripura (JRBT).

Last time, PRTC was not made mandatory for the candidates when the examination was held in August 2021, which allowed many aspirations from outside Tripura to take part in the examination.

Present Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha felt the importance of PRTC so that the youths of Tripura get preference in the recruitment drive.

Thus, the decision was made to include PRTC criteria in the recruitment process.
