Agartala, March 11: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, Jishnu Deb Burman, was sworn in today as the new Governor of Maharashtra. The oath of office was administered during a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan.
Deb Burman, a senior leader with long political experience, had earlier served as the Governor of Telangana before taking up his new responsibility in Maharashtra.
His appointment as the Governor has been widely welcomed in political circles, with many describing it as a matter of pride and honour for Tripura.
