The purchase of paddy at subsidized price from the farmers has started on 11 July, 2023 at Jagannath bari ground of Melaghar in Sonamura sub-division MLA Kishore Barman inaugurated the programme.
Inaugurating the programme, MLA Kishore Barman said that the present government is working on multi-faceted plans for the development of agriculture and the welfare of farmers.
Making farmers self-reliant is one of the goals of the present government. Chairperson of Melaghar Municipal Council Anamika Ghosh Pal Roy, Sub- Divisional Magistrate of Sonamura Sub-Division Maniklal Das and Supervisor of Nalchar Agriculture Sub-Division Bimal Das were present on the occasion.
Paddy will be purchased from the farmers at subsidized price at Kathalia Bazaar Community Hall premises of Sonamura sub-division, Nalchar Bairagi Bazaar Natmandir premises, Sonamura Vegetable Bazar, Boxanagar Community Hall and Dhanpur new motor stand. Paddy will be purchased from the farmers at subsidized price till July 15 at Jagannath bari ground. Paddy will be purchased at the rate of 20 rupees 40 paisa per kg.
