Agartala, August 5: Tripura Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath has directed the police to arrest and take strict action against those responsible for the death of Daniel Debbarma, a resident of Birmohan area under Mohanpur subdivision.

On Monday, the minister visited the deceased’s house to express condolences and assured full support to the grieving family. Speaking to the media, Nath said that while he was in Delhi, he received information that Daniel, who had recently passed his secondary examination, was attacked by a group of miscreants in the Tairajbari area while he was with his friends.

Daniel was critically injured in the attack and was admitted to GB Pant Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The minister also informed that one of the accused’s motorcycles has already been recovered and that the Superintendent of Police and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of West Tripura district have been directed to take immediate action.

“The entire area is in a state of shock and outrage. The family is demanding justice, and the government is determined to ensure exemplary punishment for the culprits,” Nath said.
