Shantirbazar, May 19: A motor vehicle and several other items were stolen from the Birchandra Munu Agricultural Science Center under Shantirbazar subdivision late Sunday night. Following the incident, police rushed to the spot after receiving information and launched an investigation.

In a swift operation, the South District Police recovered the stolen vehicle from Salema subdivision in Dhalai district within six hours of the theft. Police also arrested the driver of the recovered vehicle.

South District Superintendent of Police said that the vehicle was recovered through quick inter-district coordination and prompt police action. However, the identity of the arrested individual has not been disclosed in the interest of the ongoing investigation.

The SP further stated that several suspicious aspects related to the incident have come to light, and police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
