Senior Congress leader and six-time MLA from Kailashahar assembly constituency, , has dismissed speculation about his possible joining of the BJP, calling the reports completely baseless and politically motivated.

Reacting to the rumours that created a stir in political circles, Birjit Sinha said a conspiratorial group was deliberately spreading false propaganda to tarnish his political image. He asserted that there was no truth in the claims of him joining the BJP and urged people not to be misled by such rumours.

The veteran Congress leader further alleged that attempts were being made to create confusion among party workers and supporters through misinformation campaigns.
