Former Union Minister ofState Pratima Bhowmik today spoke to NHIDCL officials about the long-standing poor condition of the Assam – Agartala National Highway from Champaknagar to Khayerpur and the road to Agartala via Khowai – Subalsingh . She highlighted the current condition of the roads concerned and the suffering of the common people in detail . 

Pratima Bhowmik saidthat thousands of common people , workers , students and goods vehicles travel on this important national highway every day . But for a long time , the risk of accidents has increased due to large potholes , broken sections and waterlogging in different parts of the road . She mentioned that the situation is becoming more dire during the monsoon season . 

She demanded that the NHIDCL authorities start the renovation work immediately and urged them to take necessary steps in the public interest by giving utmost importance to the matter .
