Santirbazar, Dec 19: Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman on Thursday strongly criticised the state government’s stand on the Roman script issue, questioning what he termed as discrimination in the education system.
Addressing a party rally at Kwaifang market in Santirbazar, he remarked that while the sons and daughters of ministers and MLAs study in English-medium schools, Tiprasa children are expected to study in Bengali-medium schools.
Deb Barman made it clear that he does not agree with the statement of the Chief Minister on the Roman script issue and asserted that the voices of indigenous people must be respected.
