Kanchanpur | December 19: Ahead of the upcoming ADC elections, a major split has emerged within the Tipra Motha party in Kanchanpur. Growing dissatisfaction over the demand for Greater Tipraland has reportedly triggered a mass exodus of party workers and supporters from the hilly regions.
On Thursday, the BJP Kanchanpur Mandal organised a joining programme at the Ashapara Bru rehabilitation village. During the event, 234 voters from 151 families formally resigned from Tipra Motha and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The new entrants were welcomed into the BJP fold by Kanchanpur Mandal President Birendra Kar, who handed over party flags to them.
