Melaghar, Tripura: Acting on a tip-off, police conducted an anti-drug operation at the residence of Shankar Nama near Lal Mia Chowmuhani Water Supply area under Melaghar police station on Wednesday. During the search, the police recovered 1,785 Yaba tablets and approximately one kilogram of dried cannabis.

The operation was led by Officer-in-Charge of Melaghar Police Station, Jayanta Das, along with other police personnel. The seized narcotics were taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

However, the homeowner, Shankar Nama, has denied any involvement in drug trafficking, claiming that the recovered contraband does not belong to him.
