Sonamura, May 7: Security forces recovered a large quantity of Yaba tablets during a patrol operation along the Srimantapur border road under Sonamura subdivision on Wednesday.
According to reports, personnel conducting routine patrolling in the border area recovered 4,000 abandoned Yaba tablets packed in 20 pouches. The total weight of the seized narcotics was estimated to be around 400 grams.
Following the recovery, the contraband was seized after completing all necessary legal formalities. Police sources stated that the estimated market value of the recovered Yaba tablets is nearly ₹3 lakh.
The Sonamura Police Station has launched an investigation to identify the owner and source of the seized narcotics. Officer-in-Charge of Sonamura Police Station, Tapas Das, confirmed the details of the incident.
