Several injured, including children; as two passenger autorickshaws collide head-on at Reshambagan on the Assam–Agartala National Highway

Agartala, July 4: At least five to six people, including children, were injured in a head-on collision between two passenger autorickshaws on the Assam–Agartala National Highway in the Reshambagan area on Saturday.

According to reports, the accident occurred when the two autorickshaws collided head-on, leaving several passengers injured. Local residents rushed to the spot immediately after the mishap, rescued the victims, and shifted them to GB Hospital for treatment.

Preliminary reports suggest that some of the injured sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing medical treatment.

On receiving information, police personnel reached the accident site, removed the damaged autorickshaws, and restored the flow of traffic on the highway.

The collision led to a temporary traffic congestion in the area. However, normal traffic movement resumed after the vehicles were cleared from the road.

Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
