Agartala, July 28: In a strongly-worded statement during a Facebook Live session on Sunday, Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarman said his party will not tolerate the presence of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Tripura. He revealed that the party has already held discussions with the Election Commission regarding the issue.
Pradyot announced that a committee will be formed under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), which will conduct village-to-village visits to identify illegal Bangladeshi residents.
Addressing concerns around social unity, he remarked on Asaram’s house issue, saying, “Not fighting, we have to stay together. Not anger, now solidarity is needed.”
His remarks have sparked political speculation and may lead to a fresh stir in Tripura’s political landscape.
