Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that The Tripura Film Institute will be inaugurated on November 28 after inspecting the progress of this infrastructure development work at the place adjacent to Nazrul Kalakshetra in Agartala on Tuesday.
It is to be noted that State Department of Information and Culture and the Satyajit Roy Film Institute of Kolkata are jointly launching the much awaited film institute in Tripura.
The infrastructure has been developed for this institution in a part of Nazrul Kalakshetra.
ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that representatives of Satyajit Roy Film Institute have already visited Tripura several times during the infrastructure development of the film institute.
He added that modern equipment has been installed and other arrangements have been made according to their suggestions.
ICA minister also said to the media that aftery series of visits and discussions, a consensus has been reached after rounds of discussions and visits and thus, this organization will be launched.
He further said that the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will be present during the inauguration.
Minister Chowdhury invited aspirants who want to study filmmaking.
He said that classes will be held in three courses.
The Minister said that the institution will begin with short-term courses, and later, diploma and degree courses will be considered.
