Tripura’s growing innovation story received a Republic Day boost as neuroscientist and startupfounder was invited as a special guest to a high-level innovators and Intellectual Property (IP) holders’ interaction in New Delhi

The meet, held at Taj Palace around the 77th
Republic Day 2026, brought together 43 leading innovators from across India for a focused dialogue with Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal and Minister of State, Jitin Prasada on strengthening the country’s IP and innovation ecosystem.

Dr Kar, described as one of the brilliant sons of Tripura, represented the state at this
closed-door policy interaction, where the Centre reaffirmed its push for innovation-driven growth
and a more supportive IP framework for creators.

The government emphasised listening to
on-ground feedback from active IP holders to refine policies that make it easier for startups and researchers to file, protect and commercialise their innovations.
The invitation marks national recognition of Dr Kar’s work at the intersection of neurotechnology and science education.

A neuroscientist with international research experience, he is the founder of Codonmind Nexus Private Limited, Tripura’s first dedicated neurotechnology startup,
which is developing neuromodulation devices and advanced neurological research tools from
Agartala.

Operating far from traditional tech hubs, Codonmind Nexus embodies Tripura’s
ambition under the Tripura Startup Policy to position the state as an emerging deep-tech and biotech destination.

Alongside his startup, Dr Kar has spent over a decade building Dr SK’s Biology into a leading
science education platform, mentoring thousands of students preparing for the medical field. His presence at the Republic Day innovators’ meet signals how Tripura’s startup ecosystem and homegrown scientific talent are now contributing directly to national conversations on innovation
policy, IP reform and India’s goal of fostering a research- and technology-led economy.
