The Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India on January 11 awarded Agartala city as the cleanest city.
Mayor Dipak Majumder announced this achievement during a press conference at the Municipal Corporation’s office on Tuesday.
He further said, “Monika Das Dutta, the Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation received the award, bringing great pride and joy to the entire city. The recognition is attributed to the collective efforts of corporators, MIC members, the chairman, the cleaning staff and officials of Agartala Corporation.”
He added, “Ever since the BJP government took charge in 2018, the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has consistently received accolades from various organizations.
In the last 25 years, the city has not witnessed such cleanliness. The recognition was specifically granted for accomplishments in ‘Swachhata’ and other aspects of development work.”
