Charilam, August 7: Pranab Debnath, a resident of Ramchada area under the Charilam assembly constituency in Sipahijala district, has been facing severe electricity issues in his home for the past week. Debnath, who earns his livelihood as an auto-rickshaw driver, alleged that repeated complaints to the Bishalgarh electricity department have gone unheard.
According to Debnath, he informed the department both verbally and in writing, but no action has been taken to resolve the issue. Expressing his frustration, he said that even a brief spell of rain leads to long power outages in the area, and the department’s response is usually delayed.
“It’s been seven days without electricity in my house. I informed the department, but they fix things at their convenience, not when the people need it,” he said.
