Bus Associations Demand Arrest of Accused in Bishramganj Vandalism Case, Issue 72-Hour Ultimatum

Sepahijala, August 7: The Sepahijala Tripura Bus Jeep Drivers Association and the Sonamura-Agartala Bus Owners Association have expressed strong dissatisfaction over the police’s failure to arrest the accused involved in the vandalism and assault on a passenger bus at Bishramganj market on the night of August 5.

On Thursday, under the banner of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh-affiliated organization, a delegation led by Biplob Majumdar, Sajal Kumar Deb, Yusuf Mia Panna Gana, and the affected bus owner Swapan Chandra Saha filed separate complaints at the Bishramganj police station.

Following the complaints, the delegation submitted a written memorandum to Sepahijala Superintendent of Police, Bijoy Debbarma, issuing a 72-hour ultimatum for the arrest of the culprits. They warned that failure to act within the stipulated time would compel them to launch a larger protest movement.

Meanwhile, questions are being raised about the administration’s inaction and slow response in handling the incident.

All eyes are now on whether the police can apprehend the accused within the given time frame.
