The second National Lok Adalat of 2025 is scheduled to take place across Tripura on May 10. Along with the Tripura High Court, Lok Adalat sessions will be organized at all district and sub-division court premises in the state.
This extensive legal settlement initiative will see 21,410 cases taken up across 40 benches. The cases include a wide range of disputes:
- 339 motor accident compensation claims
- 221 marital disputes
- 5,457 bank loan repayment cases
- 1,000 BSNL bill payment matters
- 14,264 conciliatory criminal cases under the MB Act, TP Act, TG Act, and Excise Act
- 63 cheque bounce (NI Act) cases
- 9 consumer rights cases
- 48 electricity bill disputes
- 8 employment-related cases
Notices have already been issued to both parties involved in these matters. Since May 5, individuals who received notices have been utilizing the opportunity for pre-conciliation and early settlements by contacting their respective District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Sub-division Legal Services Authority (SDLSA) offices.
