AGARTALA — The Pradesh Congress has strongly condemned the one-day expulsion of Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman from the Tripura Legislative Assembly, terming the disciplinary action unfair and politically motivated.

Speaking at a press conference at Congress Bhavan, Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha claimed that Barman was targeted simply for raising critical questions regarding the unnatural death of late DIG Anurag Dhyankar.

Saha noted that the expelled MLA had questioned why an alleged suicide note was kept secret and whether there was official negligence in investigating the death, demanding a probe into the matter.
