A political storm has erupted in Tripura after serious allegations surfaced against BJP MLA Tofazzal Hossain, who is accused of pressuring police officials and using abusive language during a phone conversation that has gone viral on social media.

As per reports, the controversy centers around a heated telephonic exchange between the MLA and a police officer from Kalamchara Police Station. In the widely circulated audio clip, the legislator is allegedly heard threatening the officer in inappropriate language while attempting to influence police action in favor of an alleged criminal.

Following the viral spread of the audio, attempts were reportedly made to contain the situation. However, the issue escalated when the police adopted a firm stance. Kalamchara Police Station has reportedly initiated suo motu legal proceedings against the MLA for allegedly exerting unlawful pressure and issuing threats, including warnings of filing false cases if his demands were not met.

Police personnel have also approached higher authorities, including Chief Minister Manik Saha, urging strict legal action against the MLA. Through official communication, they highlighted concerns regarding interference in law enforcement duties.

Reports further indicate that this is not the first time such allegations have been raised against the MLA. He has previously faced complaints of attempting to influence police actions in various criminal matters. During the ADC elections, he was also reportedly accused of creating disturbances at multiple polling stations under the Golaghati Assembly segment.
