Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express derailed, no casualty reported

Haflong:At least seven coaches and the engine of Mumbai-bound Lokmanya Tilak Express (12520) jumped the track at Haflong in Assam’s Dima Hasao district at 3.55 pm on Thursday.

Agartala to Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak (LMT) derailed near Haflong this afternoon and met with an accident. North East Frontier Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma told that the train derailed after its wheel overturned in Dimalong area, thirty kilometers from Lumding.

However, there was no casualty in this incident, he said. Mr. Sharma also said that all necessary arrangements have been made with the medical team from Lamding immediately after receiving the information about the incident.

He said that arrangements are being made to send all the passengers of the accident train to other trains.

He also said that efforts are being made to lift the accident train on the rail track. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that there were no casualties after the train derailment. He said on social media that he has inquired about this.
