Chief Minister Prof (Dr.) Manik Saha visited the proposed site at Jute Mill Ground today for setting up of a Unity Mall in the state. Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, Principal Secretary of Industry & Commerce department K. S. Sethi, Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, Agartala Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Sailesh Kumar Yadav, Sadar SDM Arup Deb, Director of Industry & Commerce department Vishwasree B. as well as other high-ranking officials were present there along with the Chief Minister. At first, the Chief Minister visited the proposed site for setting up of Unity Mall. Then he got acquainted in a detailed manner about the site.

While speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said, the Prime Minister has envisioned setting up of a Unity Mall in every state just like the Light House Project. This initiative has been taken up to implement his dream and set up a Unity Mall in the state. The sum has been allotted in the State Budget 2023-24.

The Chief Minister informed, it was decided to set up the Unity Mall at the proposed site of Jute Mill Ground of about 4 Acres due to the availability of different facilities including communication system He said, the main objective of setting up a Unity Mall is exhibiting and selling products produced in every district of Tripura as well as of other states. As a result, a bond of brotherhood will he set up between Tripura and other states of the country.

Bangladesh has also shown interest in showcasing their popular products at this Unity Mall. Few stalls will be dedicated to products from Bangladesh accordingly. The Prime Minister has set the goal to inaugurate the Unity Malls of every state in the country on January 26, 2025.

Keeping up with the set goal, the state government aims to move ahead towards selling up the Unity Mall in the state. The Chief Minister informed the media that the construction work will soon commence
