More employment opportunities must be created through proper implementation of different schemes of Industries & Commerce department, said Industries & Commerce Minister Santana Chakma in a review meeting today held regarding the progress of development works of Industries & Commerce department in North Tripura district.
The review meeting was held at the conference hall of North Tripura District Magistrate’s office. Industries & Commerce Minister Santana Chakna in the meeting said, the Industries & Commerce department aims to make the jobless youth of the state self- dependent.
The Minister directed the department officials to work with utmost importance in this regard. The Minister said, the department’s work is not just to provide loans to the jobless youth but also to keep a check on where they are using the loan amount, whether they are being able to become self-dependent, whether they are being able to implement the scheme under which they obtained the loan.
The department officials along with the bank official must visit the ventures of the beneficiaries when required. TIDC Chairman Nabadal Banik in the meeting said, there may be difference in training process of the jobless youth. They must be trained on useful courses such as videography,
accounting efe Additional Director of Industries & Commerce department Anirban Dutta informed in the meeting that target has been set to provide loans under Swavalamban scheme to 441 persons in the present financial year Aport from that, rapid implementation of all the schemes taken up in cooperation with Asian Development Bank for improvement of Dharmanagar and Dewanpasha Industrial Estates wis emphasized in the meeting Besides, it was also informed in the meeting that target has been set to provide training to 527 persons in the present financial year on different small-duration courses under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY-40) Training program has been started recently for 300 persons. Target has been set to provide training to 40 persons on Agar Wood Chip Cutter under this scheme. Training will be provided to 255 persons on plumber and Assistant Electrician under Jal Jeevan Mission
Others present in the review meeting were Sabhadhipati of North Tripura Zilla Parishad Bhabatosh Das, District Magistrate & Collector Nagesh Kumar B., different Panchayat Samiti and BAC Chairmen of North Tripura district, Additional Director Subhash Das, Skill Development Director Sanjoy Chakraborty, Dharmanagar SDM Vivek H. B., Panisagar SDM Subhash Acharya, BDOs of 8 blocks of North Tripura district and officials of different departments including Industries & Commerce department.
