“Amra Bangali Party” Alleges Threat of Fresh Unrest in Tripura

Agartala, Sept 19: The Amra Bangali Party on Thursday alleged that a blueprint is being prepared to create unrest in Tripura, which has remained peaceful for years. Addressing a press conference, the party’s state secretary, Gaurang Rudra Pal, expressed fears of communal tension being instigated in different parts of the state.

Pal alleged that for the past few months, leaders of the Tripra Matha party have been threatening to evict Bengalis from areas under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC), particularly Bishramganj, Gandachhara and Kalamchhara in Ambasa, where Bengali families have been residing for the last 40–50 years.

He further claimed that since the Tripura Matha party holds power in the ADC, its leaders are attempting to forcefully displace Bengalis. “Although the government is aware of the situation, it has chosen to remain silent to protect its political interests,” Pal alleged.

The Amra Bengali Party also accused tribal groups of forcibly occupying government land, while criticizing the administration for not taking any action. “Other political parties are maintaining silence in the hope of securing tribal votes, but we are determined to continue our protest against these injustices,” Pal asserted.
