Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the Farmers Knowledge Centre at Chebri in Khowai district yesterday. At the programme, the Chief Minister said that besides using modern technology for the development of agriculture in the state, the farmers are being made skilled in scientific farming as well.
It is with this aim in mind that Farmers KnowledgeCentres are being established in different blocks and agricultural sub-divisions of the state From all these Centres the farmers will get advice on modem farming as well as be able to develop skill in scientific farming. The farmers of this region will benefit from the establishment of Farmers Knowledge Centreat Chebri. 58 lakh 71 thousand rupees have been spent on the construction of this Farmer Knowledge Centre
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the central and state governments have taken several schemes for the welfare of farmers and the development of agriculture The opportunities of all these schemes are being extended to all the farmers of the state. The financial assistance of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and PM Kisan scheme is being given directly to farmers accounts. Purchase of paddy at minimum support price has played an important role in doubling the income of farmers in the state.
The Chief Minister said that we want peace and maintenance of law and order for development Peace along with maintenance of law and order must be maintuined to continue the trend of development. There is a conspiracy to destroy the law and order of the state People should be vigilant and stay alert against this conspiracy. The Chief Minister said that the state government has given priority to implementation of developmental programmes while maintaining transparency.
