Agartala, June 12:
In a chilling incident that follows closely on the heels of the Meghalaya honeymoon horror, the body of a 28-year-old man was discovered inside an ice-cream freezer in Tripura’s Dhalai district. The deceased has been identified as Sariful Islam, an electrician employed under the Agartala Smart City Mission and a resident of the Indranagar area in Agartala.
Police recovered the body from a trolley bag hidden inside the freezer at Gandacherra market, located nearly 120 km from the state capital. The incident surfaced while authorities were investigating Sariful’s disappearance, which had earlier been filed as a missing person case.
Following the discovery, police intensified their investigation and have reportedly explored a suspected love triangle angle in connection with the murder. The case has sent shock waves through the region, raising serious concerns over rising violent crimes in the Northeast.
