Agartala, July 28: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has strongly condemned the attack on BJP workers in the Khowai district, allegedly carried out by supporters of the Tipra Motha party. The incident took place during the live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme at Asharambari on Sunday.
Visiting the injured BJP members at GB Pant Hospital in Agartala late Sunday night, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the violence and assured strict action against the culprits.
“I strongly condemn the violent and undemocratic attack by Tipra Motha party workers during Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme,” Saha said, adding that he has already instructed the police to take stringent measures against those involved.
The attack has heightened political tensions in the state, with the ruling BJP holding its ally Tipra Motha responsible for the violence.
