An undisclosed member of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (BishwaMohan) surrendered to the Border Security Force in Tripura.

The individual who surrendered is identified as Chhanaklu Debbarma, residing in Hanorai Sardar Para in Sepahijala district.

A Border Security Force official reported, “On January 27, 2024, in the area of the Border Out Post (BOP) Dyke VIII under Gandachera, Dhalai, an undisclosed member of NLFT (BM) surrendered before BSF authorities.”

The official added, “Debbarma has chosen to surrender and integrate himself into the mainstream of the nation. Debbarma, the surrendered insurgent, had joined the NLFT (BM) group in October 2022.”

He further said, “Tripura state has faced insurgency challenges for several decades. However, due to the efforts of central agencies and state authorities, in the recent past, numerous cadres of NLFT (BM) have decided to reintegrate into mainstream society.

Such initiatives are likely to inspire misguided youths to abandon the path of violence.”
Earlier, on January 7, another undisclosed cadre, identified as Uday Manik Jamatia from Tulsiram Bari village, Police Station Killa under Gomati district, surrendered to BSF in Tripura.
