Clarification from TTAADC on the London Cultural Tour
The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) issues this clarification in response to recent misleading claims circulated by certain individuals and Agartala based some media outlets.
It has been alleged that misuse of public funds or luxury travel by ADC Leaders while TTAADC pensioners have not received payments for a long time!’
We strongly reject these allegations and present the following facts for public record:
- The London Cultural Tour was conducted with the sole purpose of promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Tiprasa community on a global platform. This historic initiative marked the first-ever international cultural showcase from Tripura and aimed to raise awareness and recognition of our indigenous identity.
- This tour was not a luxury trip, but a strategic cultural engagement. Culture is not for sale — it is lived, shared, and honored.
- Only official of TTAADC officers and the cultural team were part of the delegation. Importantly, official staff attended in their official capacity as signatory authorities to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with partner institutions, aimed at future collaboration in culture, youth development, and education.
- Bubagra Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, serving as an elected MDC and Chairman of the AARC- TTAADC joined the tour entirely at his own expense. • He has not taken any salary, TA/DA, or allowance from TTAADC since 2021, despite being fully entitled. • His participation was driven by commitment, not compensation.
- The issue of pending pensions is a legacy challenge which the current Council is actively addressing. Linking this to a cultural mission is factually incorrect and politically motivated.
The London Cultural Tour was a proud and dignified representation of Tiprasa identity on the global stage — made possible due to visionary leadership and the support of our community. It reflects the aspirations of a people rising with pride, not extravagance.
