There have been allegations of outbreaks of water-borne diseases including diarrhea in various remote areas of ADC due to the shortage of safe
drinking water .
Due to the lack of adequate clean drinking water for a long time , local residents are forced to drink risky water. Due to this , people of all ages , from children to
the elderly , are falling ill , the locals alleged . According to local sources ,
among the affected people are elderly people of about 60 years old , as
well as five and a half year old children . As people one after another are suffering from diarrhea , vomiting and stomach infections , an atmosphere of panic has been created in the area .

Many families are expressing fear that if the situation is not brought under control quickly , the outbreak of the disease may increase further . Locals allege that many villages in the hilly areas have not yet developed a reliable system of safe drinking water . Many are forced to use water from springs ,
ponds or untreated water bodies . This water becomes even more polluted during the rainy season . According to experts , drinking
such water increases the risk of multiple water – borne diseases
including diarrhea , dysentery , typhoid.
According to the locals , despite the demand for clean drinking water for years , the problem has not been solved . The locals demand that
safe drinking water supply should be ensured immediately in the affected areas .
