The pass rate in Class 10 is 86%. Last year, this pass rate was 60 percent. Therefore, the pass rate in Class 10 has increased by 26 percent. On the other hand, the pass rate in Class 12, which was 50 percent last year, has increased to 71 percent this time.
That is, this time the pass rate in Class 12 has increased by 21 percent. This is undoubtedly a memorable milestone in the history of the state’s education system. It is worth noting here that the pass rate of Vidyajyoti schools in the state is 2 percent higher than the pass rate of CBSE schools under the Guwahati region in the Class 10 board examination.
It is worth mentioning that this year, 15 schools have achieved the rare feat of 100% pass rate in Madhyamik and 5 schools in Higher Secondary, whereas last year only one school in Madhyamik was able to achieve this feat. Besides, 66 schools in Class 10 and 25 schools in Class 12 have achieved a pass rate of more than 90 percent, which is a significant example of the increasing quality improvement in government schools in the state.
Behind this success is the leadership and direct guidance of the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the far-reaching planning and relentless work of the School Education Department of the Government of Tripura. The Education Department has taken a series of effective initiatives in the last one year. Through the Vidya Jyoti project, several schools in the state have been enriched with modern infrastructure, IT-enabled classrooms, science laboratories, libraries and subject-specific teachers.
An academic monitoring system has been introduced and arrangements have been made for school-based follow-up, parent-teacher meetings, mock tests, grooming classrooms and remedial classes. Various training workshops have also been organized at the state level regularly to improve the skills of teachers. In addition, the class syllabus, assessment methods and supporting materials have been developed in accordance with the new education policy.
These results are preliminary. It is expected that this pass rate will increase significantly after the results of the supplementary examination are published.
To maintain this success, it is expected that the education department will take special initiatives in the coming days, so that good results can be ensured in the upcoming supplementary examination.
