“Khelo India Inter University Yoga Competition will be held in Tripura from 17 to 19 February 2024. A total of 16 teams from universities of different states of India will participate.

Out of 16 teams from participating universities, 8 are female and 8 are male yoga teams. The competition will be held at NSRCC in Agartala.” Youth Affairs and Sports Department Minister Tinku Roy gave this news at a press conference organized at the press conference hall of the secretariat on Monday.

He said, “Khelo India University Games will have 20 categories among which 15 categories will be contested in Assam. The remaining 5 will be in other North Eastern states.

There will be only a yoga competition in Tripura. A team of Women Yogasana players from Tripura University will participate in this competition.”

The Youth Affairs and Sports Minister further said, “The 7th North Eastern Youth Festival-2024 will be held in the state from 26 to 29 February, 2024. In the 7th North Eastern Youth Festival, exhibition stalls of traditional food and handicrafts of different states will be opened along with various competitive events.”
He added, “Youth representatives of NSS and Nehru Yuva Sansthan from 8 states of North Eastern region will participate in the festival.

The Youth Utsav will have competitions in different categories like – folk dance, folk music, drama, guitar, rock band, photography, drawing, soil-made materials, etc.”

The sports minister sought everyone’s cooperation to make this upcoming sports festival a success.
